FTC, BBB and NY agencies name top consumer complaints, offer consumer tips during NCPW

The Federal Trade Commission’s Northeast Regional Office and the Better Business Bureau Serving Metropolitan New York, and nine other consumer protection agencies and organizations will announce the top consumer complaints of the past year and provide New York area consumers with helpful tips on protecting themselves from these scams.  The press conference will take place during National Consumer Protection Week, on Thursday, March 6, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House, Meeting Room 1, 1 Bowling Green in New York City. Continue Reading >

New York Department of State’s Division of Consumer Protection Celebrates National Consumer Protection Week 2015!

To commemorate National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW), throughout the month of March, the New York Department of State’s Division of Consumer Protection (DCP) is hosting numerous events across the Empire State to raise awareness about consumer issues.  During NCPW, DCP will also be participating in a Consumer Fraud Prevention Forum hosted by New York City Councilmember Annabel Palma.
