On Tuesday, March 5, staff from the Federal Trade Commission, Better Business Bureau, and other government and private groups will gather in New York City to announce the top consumer frauds and complaints of the past year. The speakers will explain the top categories of complaints each organization received in 2012. Local consumers will be on hand to talk about their experiences with some of these scams.
At the event, which occurs during National Consumer Protection Week, speakers from each organization will discuss potential scams and provide tips and information about how to avoid harm.
The press conference will be on Tuesday, March 5, 10:30-11:30 a.m. in Meeting Room 1, Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House, 1 Bowling Green, New York, NY. Take MTA: 4/5 to Bowling Green; R to Whitehall. At 11:00 a.m., participants will address the Spanish-language media about the top frauds.
